Welcome to My Journey and the Birth of Kokoro

My Journey

My life changed when a school friend handed me a flyer showcasing a karate practitioner in mid-flight.

I was only 9, but the image struck a chord deep within me. It wasn’t just the physical prowess that captivated me, but the aura of confidence, self-control, and profound understanding radiating from the figure.

He wasn’t just performing; through every focused and determined move, he expressed a more profound philosophy. I remember rushing home excitedly to share my newfound passion with my mum, declaring…

“I want to do this too!”

My journey into physical training began early, transitioning from ballet to karate, and later, during my studies in Germany in 2012, expanding into functional fitness and personal training. These disciplines became my sanctuary, helping me navigate the stresses and pressures of work and study. Martial arts, in particular, offered me a unique blend of physical challenge and philosophical depth, laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of holistic health.

The Genesis of Kokoro

Observing the rapid pace of technological advancement and its side effects—increased disconnection, loss of self, eroding confidence, and a pervasive rush through life—I envisioned a solution.

I founded Kokoro as a framework for individuals to rediscover their core. It offers a path to reconnect with one’s essence and holistically nurture one’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Throughout my life, three pillars have stood firm

Kokoro embodies these pillars, offering a space for comprehensive growth, strength, and health—a safe and supportive environment for personal development on all levels.

My Holistic Approach to Health

Health has always been a paramount consideration in my life, a priority further amplified by personal losses and witnessing the impact of depression and anxiety within my own family.
These experiences drove me to explore a multifaceted well-being approach, delving into neuroscience, neurolinguistics, physiology, and psychology. My journey has been understanding the intricate tapestry of what makes us human—how we move, think, and feel.

At Kokoro, we embrace a 360-degree perspective on health, recognising the complexity of the human condition. We focus on:

Physical Health

Honing the body for strength and resilience.

Mental Health

Cultivating a stable and agile mind.

Emotional Health

Nurturing the heart to feel deeply and empathetically.

Vision and Mission

My vision for Kokoro is to forge a community of future leaders who embody strength in every aspect—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and are prepared for whatever the future holds. We aim to instil values that celebrate our humanity, ensuring a healthy and vibrant future for ourselves and the generations to follow.

Our mission is to sculpt strong characters through adaptive physical training and insightful mental coaching, crafting a legacy of health, strength, and resilience.

Join us at Kokoro, where your journey towards holistic health and personal excellence begins.

My Milestones

2000

Martial Arts—Physical, Mental & Emotional Wellbeing Journey: At 9 years old, I started Karate. Karate has taught me three crucial elements: the power of Physical, Mental, and Emotional Strength, as we often call it in martial arts, and your “Body, Mind, and Spirit.” My Health journey began… without me noticing it at the time.

2008

Nutritional Science in Theory: High School. Shaped the “theoretical” understanding of nutrition on a chemical basis.

2010

America & Weight Gain: I went to America as an Aupair, caring for 3 kids. Without noticing it, within one year, I gained 10kg…

2011

(Back in) Germany & Weight Loss: I tried to lose weight, but often, I felt alone with what my body needed; though I did everything right, I didn’t understand the basics back then.
It was a slow process, but eventually, I got there by slowly incorporating nutrition knowledge and being observant of what my body needed. I did not focus on the number I needed to lose, but instead on the small actions I needed to take to get there—increasing exercise and, importantly, what type (!) and understanding my relationship with food.

2011

Linguistics, Neurolinguistics, and Psycholinguistics, also known as the Power of Words and Language, are fascinating! During my university studies, I was exposed to coaching, communication, and how our brain processes words.

2013

Coaching, Psychology & Leadership: My first job allowed me to go through several immersive coaching programs that taught individuals, executives and corporates to become coaches or “to master themselves through self-coaching”. It laid the solid foundation of conscious communication with ourselves & others, the power of how we choose words and, therefore, shape our reality and how to keep ourselves in check (mentally and emotionally) in a healthy way.

2015

My vision was born from the desire to combine the powers of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. This led to the creation of a unique approach that integrates coaching and training.

2015

Becoming a Personal Trainer: my love for physical training, martial arts and understanding the human body on a “physical level” made me want to become a Personal Trainer. So, I studied and began my career as a trainer, along with my full-time job in coaching.

2016

Going the distance: Moving overseas taught me to embrace challenges and stretch myself. Years of pursuing freedom and a passion for health and wellbeing have profoundly shaped me. The following years involved applying what I learned, observing myself, and developing my tools. I faced challenges in the smallest daily routines and subtleties, like being away from home, rebuilding a new life, and at times, having no money. My only resources were myself, my knowledge, and the lessons I had learned. I quickly realised that I was the only person who could help myself instantly when I felt alone.

2018

Champion: National Karate Champion 2018 & 2019 and fighting internationally overseas for Australia: I take Martial Arts to expand and stretch myself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

2020

Loss: Losing one of my most loved family members completely stretched me emotionally. The biggest emotional rug was pulled out from under me, leaving me feeling dispersed. Slowly, I began to rebuild myself, putting the pieces together, a process that continues to shape my everyday moments forever.
